University Medical Center - Specialty Care Clinic

The Specialty Care Clinic on UMC’s campus houses two distinct clinic practices—gastroenterology and cardiology—within the same outpatient department. The two specialties share a large waiting room and staff support spaces, while 38 exam rooms and 2 treatment rooms are divided between the two clinics. A shared core was planned so that support spaces, such as the conference room, lab, and staff break room, could be used by both clinics to save space while still maintaining separate patient spaces. Significant space was allocated to resident workspaces to allow for training of future specialist physicians.
