Children’s Hospital New Orleans - Northshore Outpatient Clinic

This pediatric primary and specialty care clinic offers pediatric services to the Northshore as a satellite branch of Children’s Hospital New Orleans. The clinic was designed to house a wide range of specialties under one roof. It consists of 23 exam rooms, an X-ray, eye lanes, and physical therapy spaces. Physicians from different pediatric sub-specialties can collaborate on patients, referring them to one another within the same facility. To provide a cohesive design with the main hospital, the design incorporates the paint and finish standards of the main campus. The goal of the clinic’s design was to create an immersive, nature-inspired play place that relates to the natural elements of the city, while providing a connection to the main hospital. Custom-built elements, including tree leaves, interactive play areas, and tangram wall designs, were provided to create a sense of adventure. The entire project duration, from the beginning of design to the end of construction, was only 10 months.
