Louisiana Superdome Renovations

New Orleans, LA

The Superdome project involved demolition work, construction and renovations to 1.9 million SF of the New Orleans landmark. The facility sustained major damage as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects was part of a joint venture team, consisting of Trahan Architects of Baton Rouge and Billes Architecture of New Orleans. Another valuable team member was Ellerbe Becket, a respected national design firm that oversaw the project as a consultant. Major components of the project were completed in the record time of nine months in order to host the first post-Katrina NFL football event at the Superdome in September 2006.
