Dillard University Professional Schools & Sciences Building

The 127,000 sf Professional Schools Building at Dillard University houses a variety of academic disciplines including: Business School, math and computer labs, chemistry and physics labs, School of Nursing, a public health clinic and various major classrooms plus a 440-seat auditorium. The building has three stories with the first floor focused on community access functions. The building is the first sustainable design “green” building on Dillard’s campus: the atrium and clerestory lights bring light into the center of the design which achieved LEED Gold certification for new buildings and for building operations and performance. The white-painted brick exterior is designed to relate to and enhance the historic Dillard campus with a modern interpretation of the Jeffersonian style of its existing buildings.

I commend the entire Sizeler Thompson Brown architectural firm for providing to Dillard University one of the most outstanding academic facilities in the United States, namely, the Professional Schools and Sciences Building. Your efforts ensured this magnificent structure was delivered on time and, as importantly, within budget. In today’s uncertain times, it is gratifying to work with a team of professionals of your caliber who have commitment and pride in your work.
